The objective of our Title III
English Language Acquisition (TELA)
program, is to quickly bring the limited English
proficient (LEP)
student to a level of proficiency in English high enough that
he/she can be successful in academic classes at his/her own
grade level.
Our English language learners
(ELL's)
receive classes that emphasize the development of speaking,
following directions, social interaction and group
participation. As these skills develop, we then introduce the
reading and writing process. As each student progresses,
he/she will continue to receive support in speaking and
listening with a special emphasis on reading, writing and
assistance with classroom curriculum.
