School-Wide Positive Behavior Supportat D. F. Huddle Elementary
SWPBS
is a scientifically research-based systems approach to enhancing the capacity of
schools to educate all students, including those with challenging social
behaviors. SWPBS is a proactive process whereby school leadership teams,
in alignment with school improvement efforts 1) facilitate the school’s
implementation of system-wide positive discipline procedures, 2) make ongoing
data-based decisions about the effectiveness of their discipline
procedures/interventions, and 3) make adjustments as needed throughout the year
to enhance the success of both students and staff.
School Mission StatementWe believe that all children can and have the right to learn and succeed in a culturally diverse and ever changing world.

Incentives-Rewards
falcon dollars
·
Students earn “Falcon Dollars” for following School-Wide Expectations and Rules.
·
Teachers turn in a weekly chart of the students’ Falcon dollars and a total is
kept for each student. Teachers
give rewards in classroom.
·
The
student in each class with the most Falcon dollars is the “SOAR Falcon students
of the week.” Their name is
announced on Monday, and they come to the office to take a picture and receive a
reward.
·
At
the end of the six weeks, rewards are given school-wide.
For the 1st, 3rd and 5th six weeks, the
top students are given a party, for the 1st party;
“Chill Factory”(making ice cream sundaes) and 3rd party;
popcorn, drink and a movie. During
the 2nd, 4th and 6th six weeks, all students
can go to the Falcon Store to purchase rewards based on how many Falcon dollars
they have. Our partners in
education donated many of these rewards.
·
Faculty members are rewarded through the “Clean Room Award” and the “Beyond the
Call of Duty Award.” For the “Clean
Room Award” each room was graded on a specific criteria and the teacher whose
class wins gets a reward and is recognized.
For the “Beyond the Call of Duty Award”, all staff can nominate each
other anonymously if they consistently go above and beyond the call of duty in
their work. These staff members are
recognized and receive a gift certificate.
·
Staff members meet and discuss School-Wide PBS at faculty meetings.
·
A
letter explaining PBS was sent home at the beginning of the year.
Communication with parents is an essential part of our PBS plan.
