Plainview High School is a community school composed of grades pre-k through 12. The Plainview community and school are typical of the places many of us spent our childhood years.  Today, Plainview High School is an average, rural, neighborhood school.  The faces of teachers and school personnel are seen not only at school, but also at community activities:  ballgames, churches, showers, weddings, funerals, etc.  Plainview High School helps create a secure haven for students.

As with many rural families, most students have daily chores.  Because the community is very homogenous, area churches hold revivals and singings regularly and provide various activities for the youth.  Therefore, most students are very busy with home activities, school activities, community activities, and church activities.

Plainview community students have had the privilege of attending only one school.  This allows them to develop friendships that can last a lifetime.
