Beta Club

      Junior Beta Club      

 

The Ruby Wise Junior Beta Club is sponsored by Mrs.

Parish, Mrs. Iles and Mrs. Sasser.  This club is involved in

many activities at the school and in the community.  The

students who are chosen to be in this club must meet and maintain

certain academic standards and behavior standards.  It is an honor for these students to be

selected to join the Beta Club.

       Service Projects:

Helping the Needy at Christmas Time

Making Cards for Senior Citizens

Singing at Nursing Homes

Ringing bells for the Salvation Army

End of the year trip to celebrate end of the year

RUBY-WISE JR. BETA GUIDELINES

 

A 5th grade student is eligible for Jr. Beta if:
bulletHe/she has A or A/B Honor Roll at the end of the first six weeks of 5th grade and
bulletHe/She has demonstrated good behavior/character. (No more than 3 infractions in the 1st 6 weeks of 5th grade. No state referrals.)
bulletEligible 5th grade students choosing not to join in 5th grade will not be allowed to join as a 6th grader.
bulletStudents not eligible to join in 5th grade will not be invited to join as a 6th grader. This is a 2 year club.

 

Once a student has paid his/her dues(National Jr. Beta and School Dues):
bulletHe/She must maintain at least A/B Honor Roll and good behavior.
bulletOne C or lower on a report card will result in probation.
bulletA second C or lower on a report card will result in dismissal from the club.
bulletAny Jr. Beta member earning 3 infractions in a 6 weeks or a state referral will be placed on probation.
bulletAny combination of 2 of the items above will result in dismissal from the club.
bulletIn order to participate in the end of the year trip, Jr. Beta members must be an active part of our club. This means participating in club fund raisers and service activities as designated at the beginning of each school year in Jr. Beta letters.

 

6th Grade members:
bulletMust be eligible the entire 5th grade year. Any student on probation will start over in 6th grade.
bulletPay school Jr. Beta Dues of $10.00 at beginning of year.
bulletHe/She must maintain at least A/B Honor Roll and good behavior.
bulletOne C or lower on a report card will result in probation.
bulletA second C or lower on a report card will result in dismissal from the club.
bulletAny Jr. Beta member earning 3 infractions in a 6 weeks or a state referral will be placed on probation.
bulletAny combination of 2 of the items above will result in dismissal from the club.

6th grade students are allowed to join if:
bulletHe/She attended a different school in the 5th grade that did not have Jr. Beta. Must meet 5th grade eligibility requirements when he/she was in the 5th grade.
bulletAttended a school that had Jr. Beta and was a member in good standing.
bulletMust pay applicable dues(National and school if did not pay National dues last year.)
